The law governing mining activities has been published in the Official Journal (OJ) No. 52.
This new law, No. 25-12, signed on August 3 by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aims to enhance the attractiveness of the mining sector in Algeria and improve the investment climate through a series of incentive measures and provisions encouraging mining investment, while strengthening transparency.
This text is part of the reforms aimed at strengthening economic sovereignty, supporting the diversification of the national economy, creating direct and indirect jobs, and encouraging the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
For the record, the law governing mining activities, the result of three years of extensive consultations with various stakeholders, was adopted by the deputies of the National People’s Assembly (APN) on June 16 and by the members of the Council of the Nation on July 8.
