The NGO Amnesty International strongly condemned the assassination of six Palestinian
journalists by the Zionist entity during an airstrike, which occurred on Sunday in the city of
Gaza, calling for an “independent and impartial” investigation into these murders.
“Anas al-Sharif (one of the most famous journalists in the Gaza Strip) and his colleagues have
been the eyes and voice of Gaza.”
Hungry and exhausted, they continued to bravely do their frontline reporting work, despite
death threats and immense pain,” Amnesty International wrote on its social media account.
And to emphasise: “No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists
killed than the genocide perpetrated (by the Zionist entity) against the Palestinians in the Gaza
Strip.”
“There must be an independent and impartial investigation into the assassinations of
Palestinian journalists, with justice and full reparations for their families.” States must act
urgently to end the genocide now,” the NGO concluded in its message.
The Qatari television channel Al Jazeera announced on Sunday that five of its journalists had
been martyred in a Zionist strike in the Gaza Strip. Among them, Anas al-Sharif, 28 years old,
a well-known reporter to his viewers, whom the Zionist army has acknowledged targeting.
The other martyrs are correspondent Mohammed Qreiqeh, as well as cameramen Ibrahim
Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa.
On Monday, a sixth journalist, Mohammed Al-Khaldi, succumbed to his injuries from the
previous day.
He was a freelance journalist who occasionally collaborated with local media.
