The 10th edition of the International Subcontracting Exhibition (ALGEST-2025) opened on Monday at the Maritime Pines Exhibition Palace (Algiers), with the participation of more than 100 companies representing various industrial sectors and fields.
The Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir, who kicked off this economic event in the presence of the Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, stated that this Salon “represents a major national event,” given its role in supporting industrial subcontracting and promoting productive partnerships among various stakeholders.
He emphasised that industrial subcontracting is an essential pillar of economic takeoff, being a strategic element that supports local production and improves the quality of technical products and services, in line with the State’s guidelines aimed at building a true wealth-creating industry and generating high-value-added jobs.
Recalling that the objective set by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which is to increase the contribution of industry to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 13% by the end of 2027, the minister estimated that the current dynamics of the sector make this objective achievable.
For the minister, the automotive industry is a concrete example of the sector’s accelerated growth, an area heavily reliant on industrial outsourcing. The success of this process requires the construction of a solid national network of subcontractors capable of locally providing the largest number of components, in order to ensure the transition from assembly to actual production, while preserving added value at the national level.
This event is organised by the Algerian Subcontracting Exchange (BASTP) and the World Trade Centre Algeria under the slogan “Renewal for an Integrated National Industry,” and will continue until November 20 in the presence of national and foreign companies from Italy, Germany, and Poland.
Nearly 10,000 professional visitors are expected at this Salon, which will also feature B2B meetings, conferences, and round tables focussing on technologies, artificial intelligence, and their applications in the field of outsourcing.
The Salon primarily focusses on subcontracting in the mechanical industry, in addition to the mining, railway networks, seawater desalination, renewable energy, services, and hydrocarbon sectors.
In this vein, several partnerships are expected to be concluded between the participating companies, particularly those operating in the mechanical industries, in order to provide industrialists with various spare parts and ensure the best possible training for users, in accordance with the approach aimed at establishing an integrated national industry in the automotive field, according to the organisers.
