Algeria will host, from September 4 to 10, the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025) with the ambition of making this event a true lever to boost trade, attract investments, and strengthen the economic integration of the continent.
Under the theme “A Gateway to New Opportunities,” this edition aims to be the most ambitious since the launch of the IATF in 2018, both in terms of the number of participants and the planned economic agreements.
With more than 2,000 exhibitors from 75 countries, 35,000 professional visitors expected, and trade agreements and investments that could exceed $44 billion, the 2025 IATF is emerging as a major catalyst for African economic integration.
Organised at the Exhibition Palace (Maritime Pines – Algiers), this continental event will be held in collaboration with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the initiator of this fair, the African Union Commission, and the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The exhibition program is particularly rich. In addition to the multisectoral exhibition (agriculture, industry, energy, finance, health, transport, research, innovation, startups..), several events are planned.
These include the trade and investment forum, the creative industries summit (Creative Africa Nexus-CANEX), B2B meetings, as well as the special day dedicated to the African diaspora and the African automotive exhibition.
The fair will also feature spaces dedicated to young African entrepreneurs creating startups, university students and researchers, as well as special days open to countries and entities from the public and private sectors to showcase their opportunities in trade, investment, tourism, and culture.
The stated ambition is to make this edition the most remarkable of the IATF, in terms of economic impact and international visibility, while reaffirming Algeria’s role as a driving force for African development.
To ensure the success of this Fair, Algeria is mobilising all the necessary organisational and logistical means with the aim of making this large-scale event a lever for economic emergence.
During the Council of Ministers meeting on April 20th, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, had ordered the implementation of all necessary facilitations for the participation of African partners in this economic event, which holds particular importance for the promotion of intra-African trade, as well as all measures and provisions capable of contributing to its success for the benefit of the national and African economies.
He also ordered close coordination and the pooling of efforts to ensure the full success of this edition, given Algeria’s experience and its leading role at African and international levels.
The preparations undertaken by Algeria for the success of this event have been repeatedly praised by the organising partners.
In this context, the chairman of the IATF Advisory Council, former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, had expressed confidence, during a promotional event organised in Algiers at the beginning of last July, in the success of this major event, while emphasising that the 2025 edition “which enjoys great interest and support from the Algerian authorities, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” will mark a new stage in the process of “economic emancipation” of the African continent.
Last Sunday, the Algerian diplomat Larbi Latrèche was appointed as the commissioner of the IATF 2025. He will be assisted by two deputies, namely Abdelkrim Beha and Messaoud Mehila, current Algerian ambassadors to Jordan and Mexico, respectively.
